Weaving on a Loom for Beginners - WEA Wollongong

Posted by Sue Walker YarnHub on 12th May 2017

Learn the craft of hand weaving using contemporary yarns and looms. You will begin weaving in the first lesson and by the end of the course will have completed at least one textile item, and depending on confidence and ability may also have completed additional items such as a cushion, bag, textile art for the wall or even a small throw. In addition to traditional yarns such as wool and cotton, you will see items made from silk, linen, paper string, jelly yarn, stainless steel, copper, thread of gold and silver, elastic yarns and more! You will be amazed at how far this craft can take you. Your first project, a scarf will be set up ready to weave. Students to pay tutor $30-$40 for 1st project. Previous students may choose their own project.
